Hi there! I am Jasmine Gohil

Experienced Financial Analyst | Data-Driven Storyteller | Entrepreneur

MY STORY

Hi! My name is Jasmine. My journey into the working world started pretty early, I was just 16 when I got my first job at a startup. My main job was to handle client meetings for the founder and play around with Microsoft Excel, which is where I discovered how much I enjoyed working with it. Who knew spreadsheets could be so satisfying? After that, I interned at Standard Chartered Bank, Axis Bank, and JP Morgan, where I got my first real taste of the corporate world. I still remember sitting in a conference room for the first time, surrounded by people in blazers, and thinking, “Wow, this is serious!” Those internships taught me so much, not just about Microsoft tools but also about how to communicate professionally and handle fast-paced work environments. But even with all of this going on, I never let go of my passion for dance. I trained for 8 years as a classical dancer, and honestly, it’s one of the things I’m most proud of. Dance taught me discipline, focus, and the importance of showing up, even when things get tough. My first full-time job was at Omkara ARC, and it was a whirlwind. Everything was new, but I threw myself into it, learning everything from financial models to stakeholder communication. It was tough, but I loved the challenge, and within six months, I got promoted. Then came one of my favorite stories, Joyeria. During the lockdown, I wanted a customizable bracelet, but everything I found was either too expensive or not quite right. So, I thought, “Why not make my own?” That’s how Joyeria, my little e-commerce business, was born. I designed charm-based jewelry, handled all the branding, took care of customers, and even packed and shipped every piece myself. Over two years, I sold more than 500 pieces and realized that Joyeria wasn’t just a business, it became a way to create meaningful gifting experiences for people. You can see some of my designs in my portfolio. At some point, I realized I wanted to give back to society and share the lessons life had taught me. That’s when I found an organization called The Lighthouse Project, which connects mentors with young children from underserved backgrounds. I had the privilege of mentoring a child for two years, and it was one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. It taught me that not everyone comes from privileged backgrounds and showed me the importance of empathy and finding joy in the little things. I’d plan small games for our sessions, each with a lesson woven in for my mentee, and those moments of connection were truly special. Now, I’m in Boston just recently graduated with my Master’s in Business Analytics. Moving here was a huge leap for me, new city, new country, all on my own. I had to figure out rent, expenses, part-time jobs, and assignments while adapting to a completely different environment. When I started, I didn’t know a single line of code, and now I can build full data pipelines, analyze results, and tell stories through dashboards. Want to see some examples of my data projects? Check out my projects page. It’s been such a rewarding journey. I hope this gives you a little glimpse of who I am, someone who loves learning, exploring, and creating. Thanks for stopping by, and feel free to check out the rest of my website to learn more!
